Q: Who is this course designed for?
A: Anyone who has an interest in (street) photography and how basic design concepts make your pictures stand out better. If you are not happy with your photographs and would like to better understand how to make them stand out more, get more attention, likes and clicks, then this is the right course for you.
Q: Who is this course NOT designed for?
A: There are great courses available in Dubai (and online of course) that can teach you the technical basics of photography, such as exposure triangle, light metering, and all the other fancy stuff. This course does not cover anything related to camera settings (at least not in great detail). If you are looking for basic entry level photography courses, please continue your search online and I’d be happy to give you a few pointers if you drop me a line.
Q: How can I pay for the course?
A: Seats are limited for each workshop date and in order to secure your seat, we ask all participants to secure their slot with a downpayment. This amount will be counted against the total workshop price. You can pay the balance on the day of the event either in cash or through credit card. Click here to book your seat
Q: What about the minimum attendee rule for each workshop?
A: I want to keep the workshops limited in maximum attendee size, however there is also a minimum number of people (5) required for each workshop. If there is less than 5 people registered for a course date, then I will contact all participants with an alternative date suggestion. This is why it is important that I have everyone’s email address so that I can communicate with the group early in advance.
Q: Do I need to own a camera to attend this course?
A: You will need a camera of some sort. This could be your fancy 5000$ SLR or your smartphone. Anything that can take pictures. Please ensure your camera is sufficiently charged and that you bring backup batteries. At the end of the course, I would like to share your work with the class so please ensure your camera either has an SD card that you can share with me at the end of the class, or an USB-C storage capable output so that I can connect it with my (Mac) laptop.
Q: Do I need to bring a laptop?
A: If you have a laptop and photo processing software installed (e.g. Adobe Lightroom), then feel free to bring it to the workshop. Please ensure your laptop is sufficiently charged since we can’t always guarantee power supply for all participants (heavily location dependent)
Q: What experience level is required to attend this course?
A: This is a course suitable for all level of photographers. In order to get the maximum out of this course, it would be good if you have at least a basic understanding of things like shutter speed, aperture and the likes. The content of this course will benefit you regardless of your knowledge of photography techniques, so you can attend without any prior knowledge of photography whatsoever. It would also be good if you have a good understanding of your camera’s settings and how to operate it.
Q: What language is the workshop conducted in?
A: All workshops will be held in English
Q: Is the workshop weather dependent?
A: No, the course will take place in any weather. Please bear in mind that the practical part of the workshop will take place outside and during the summer months adequate clothing and sunscreen is recommended.
Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Please refer anyone interested to this site and let them fill out the booking form. This is required so that I can manage the (restricted) space per course.
Q: How long in advance can I cancel?
A: Please let me know at least 2 days in advance if you would like to cancel your attendance
Q: What is the minimum age for attending the workshop?
A: The minimum age is 16 years.
